Background
The OtO Smart Lawn Care device from OtO Inc. is the first of it’s kind in the lawn care space. OtO is an innovative IoT lawn care device that automatically and precisely waters your lawn, gardens, or other plant beds and can even apply treatments like fertilizer and mosquito repellant. With OtO, the hassles of garden care are a thing of the past!
challenge
Each lawn or garden is unique and setting up an OtO device to recognize the specific zones and boundaries of a garden was a rather challenging task. OtO needed a simple, ubiquitous way to allow users to set up their device, customize it’s behaviour, and view the ongoing status of their OtO devices and lawns.
Solution
OasisCode worked with OtO Inc. to design and develop a mobile app for iOS and Android that communicates with the OtO device through a Bluetooth Low Energy connection in order to facilitate the set up of OtO devices including connecting devices to WiFi and defining lawn boundaries. Furthermore, the app allows users to monitor the health and status of their devices, their future watering schedules, and customize many aspects of their devices and zones.
